June Perkins is a storyteller and poet in the mediums of blogging, video, digital art photography and print. She is an emerging song writer.
During 2011 she was invited to guest blog for ABC Open for 6 months on cyclone Yasi recovery in the Cassowary Coast on the basis of her already established blog Pearlz Dreaming.
June has been included in two books about cyclone recovery True Spirit of Cyclone Yasi and Cyclone Yasi our stories, and is currently working on an ebook series drawing on her cyclone recovery experiences which she plans to print and produce as a dvd.
She is a devoted poet, who began her poetry trek at the Tasmanian poetry festival at the age of fifteen and this journey continues. This year Ilura Press will feature her poetry for the second time in Etchings –in its upcoming issue dedicated to the Feminine. She has previously guest blogged for Ilura Gazette on photography, social media and blogging and has published several poems.
June is committed to writing and video documenting regional country stories from people and organisations who would otherwise be little represented in the mainstream media or who may not realise the power of their own stories.
She currently offers the following paid services:

- Tailor made inspiring photographic and poster card prompts for your writing workshops, community event, short word bursts and thematic and illustratin through digital photographic collage/art.
- Advice on venues in the Cassowary Coast for writing workshops and networking with local art groups as well as to national poets or arts groups involved with.
June is looking for financial sponsors of her ebook series/dvd on Cyclone Recovery processes and is delighted to give presentations on this topic as someone who has experienced the recovery process first hand.
She welcomes queries from tourism, government, authors already published in this or a closely related area, writing centres and organisations on this project – and will be offering paid advertising space in her ebooks.
June is a Baha’í and open to working with people all religious and spiritual and social affiliations who believe in the causes of universal peace, universal education, upholding of fundamental human rights and social justice.
